Finance Minister of Maharashtra State Government Ajit Pawar has announced the launch of Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana in Budget 2024-25 on Friday 28 June 2024, through which financial assistance of Rs 1500 will be provided every month to women between the ages of 18 and 60 who are unstable due to the financial condition of the state.
The financial assistance provided under this scheme will be transferred to the bank account of women every month and along with this, three LPG gas cylinders will also be provided and a fee waiver facility will also be provided to poor girls of EWS and OBC community on taking admission in college for higher education. The government of Maharashtra State will spend Rs 46,000 crore for this scheme. Women eligible to get the benefit of this scheme will have to apply online for their Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana Maharashtra, which will be started after the official website of this scheme is released.

- Women of the state from 18 to 60 years of age who are permanent residents of Maharashtra state and are financially weak are eligible for this scheme.
- Women whose family’s annual income is less than Rs 2.50 lakh and no member of their family is a government employee or income taxpayer are eligible for this scheme.
- Girls of the state who are from the OBC and EWS communities and whose family’s financial condition is not good are eligible to get the fee of higher education waived under this scheme.
- Girls who have been admitted to any college in the state for higher education are eligible for this scheme.
- Women who already have LPG gas connections in their houses are not eligible to get LPG gas under this scheme.
