In a cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on 25 August 2024 under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, it was announced to start the Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana 2024 in the state, through which women of the state who are financially weak and needy, widow, divorced and are unable to meet the education and nutrition related needs of their children and children whose parents are disabled will be provided a grant amount of Rs 1000 every month to meet their education and nutrition related needs.
Under this scheme, eligible children will be provided the benefit of a grant amount till they reach the age of 18 years. Also, through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided by the government to eligible children for graduation, postgraduate and professional course fees, and hostel expenses.
